Paintings 22 and 23 of 30 Paintings in 30 Days were created with an art knife rather than a brush. That’s not to say they were actually painted with a blade.
That’s not to say they were actually painted with a blade. They were painted originally with my brushes and watercolour paint, but they were part of a larger painting that had been sitting for a couple of years in my browser while I contemplated what it needed. I liked the colours – the combination of FUB, Burnt Sienna and Burnt Umber creates a lovely warm mood: a kind of contemporary version of a sepia look.
But the composition didn’t quite work for me. Then I decided it just take out the pieces of the painting that I really liked. So two Running WIth Brushes paintings emerged. So these paintings were created today – but without brush applied (except for the signatures).
